Ember X Booker: DPCNA approved 11.22.19
This mating and litter will most likely occur well before our plans with Powder and Cooper. With the mating projected to take place in later December or early January, and then subsequently pups to be born mid-March and be ready to go home in Mid-May. We'll see what Mother Nature has to say...
This also is an exciting combination of two lovely Drents. Jytte Quilou v.d. Small Ee NA, aka Ember. She is a Dutch import and has a very loving, sweet and forgiving personality, with strong desire to please. She doesn't know a stranger and is a very happy snuggly girl. She is a typically sized female who loves to sing - as Drents are known to do. Despite her small size, she has a big heart and loves to please. Ember enjoys field work and is a highly effective pointer and retriever of game. She also enjoys swimming.
Esp. Ch. Joksan NABAR The Gloucester CGC, aka Booker is the first beauty Champion for the breed in the country of Spain. He has been hunted extensively and successfully throughout the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern states. He is highly intelligent, freethinking, and affectionate. Life is seldom boring or lonesome with Booker around. Booker's mother and father where the Dutch Drent club's 2008 male and female hunting games winners and the reason they were paired. So it comes as no surprise he has shown tremendous aptitude for hunting from day one. While hunting, Booker does a great job of checking in and tracking my location in the field and rarely needs intervention from me to keep things the way I prefer. Booker works efficiently, points, retrieves and backs and never quibbles over birds.
As you should expect, we actively employed Raymond H. Oppenheimer's 20 Principles(+) in making our selection, even though both parents are on site - this decision was debated for months and one of the reasons for this late announcement. So it is with confidence, we feel the pairing is highly complementary to one another... Both dogs are approved by the DPCNA for meeting or exceeding Health, Conformation, and Temperament requirements for breeding.
