Dio X Sage
Expect puppies to be available Mid-Summer of '26
This pairing of Dio and Sage is an exciting opportunity here in North America and the culmination of years of dedicated effort. While not the first pairing of two domestically produced Drents, it is one of a few pairings of two domestic Drents produced within the same breeding program, and an exciting line-breeding on some fantastic Drentsche Patrijshonden we have been proud to have produced.
Sage was our second Singleton, and all Singletons are incredibly special puppies. She has developed into a lovely Drent girl, with a stunning coat few female Drents can claim to have. She is a solid bird dog in the field as well, I've hunted: Pheasent, Valley Quail, Huns, and Sharptail with her. She has a good natural retrieve, and her backing has developed nicely. Sage regularly trains with us during the summer, and visits our home and pack frequently.
Dio was from Tule's '21 Evergreen Litter, which produced some very nice Drents indeed. Dio lives outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho with his family. We had the opportunity to hunt with him and his boss in Eastern Montana last hunting season, we were impressed with him. He is a sweet "good boy" Drent, that also happens to be gorgeous and is an effective hunter! We had a lot of fun hunting MT Pheasant with Dio and Josh for sure! His boss sends photos of Dio regularly, and he is for sure taking advantage of all the upland birds Idaho has to offer.
As we watched these lovely Drents develop over the past few years. They compliment one another very well, in personality, temperament and conformation. This is exactly what we look for when selecting dogs to pair. With this line-breeding we expect some really nice results; lovely Drents with good coats, great bone, and sweet temperaments, that will make for amazing companions in the home, field, or show ring, and be ready for whatever activity/sport you are into.
Both dogs are known for being super sweet, sensitive, biddable, cooperative, with moderately high drive. Dio & Sage represent everything that is classically Drent. These pups will make amazing family companions, as all Drents should, these incredible pups will thrive with a purpose and need to be out in the public eye, being ambassadors for the breed, and doing the things the Drents are meant to be doing.
We passionately believe this pairing to fully express our philosophy as wholeheartedly as we can imagine.
