Maddie is a beautiful lady and the prize of the 2013 BrookeXFowler litter, she stands as a strong representation of the breed.  She delivers great results in the field, is an observant announcer of guests and is a true family member…very loyal and affectionate.  She is a pleasure to view, displaying an even balance of strength, agility and poise.  Maddie’s game drive was apparent from a very young age.  She is absolutely in her element “in the field” and has hunted successfully over wild pheasants, quail and waterfowl.  Her natural instincts in the field motivate her to work with her master, covering ground in an efficient sweeping manner and checking-back as needed.  This style of hunting makes her an absolute pleasure to foot hunt with.  She is sturdy, energetic, and has the “heart” to hunt strong all day.  Maddie has many characteristics that make her considered as the total package.  She has great conformation, is very intelligent, confident and displays an overwhelming desire to please her family.  She has tremendous house manners and is as “at home” curled up on the couch as she is in a field combing for birds.  Maddie is simply a joy to be around and we are very grateful that she is a member of the family.

Booker is highly intelligent, freethinking, and affectionate, with a healthy dose of ondeugend thrown in, life is seldom boring or lonesome with Booker around.  Booker's mother and father where the Dutch Drent club's 2008 male and female hunting games winners and the reason they were paired. So it comes as no surprise he has shown tremendous aptitude for hunting from day one and has successfully hunted and pointed wild Blue, Ruffed, Spruce grouse, Hungarian, Chukar, Red-Leg partridge, Scaled, Gambles, Valley, Mearns quail, and of course Pheasant in Spain, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico and Arizona.  Booker has been judged by some of the most prestigious Group 7 judges in Europe and is the first ever Drent to earn a Spanish show "beauty" title, additionally, his Dutch results earned him an invitation to join their stud book. Booker behaves and looks like his father, Baron, a Dutch and German Grand Champion in both the field and show ring. While hunting, Booker does a great job of checking in and tracking my location in the field and rarely needs intervention from me to keep things the way I prefer.  Booker works efficiently, points, retrieves and backs and never quibbles over birds, other dogs can steal from him, he will just let it happen.  It should come as no surprise he has never exhibited gun shyness.
What you can expect from this litter: First and foremost, we have high expectations for this litter.  Booker's first litter was produced using Brookelyn V. 'T. Wijdseland, and the results proved to be better than what anyone had hoped for (and the COI was very low), in fact we ended up keeping one of the pups for our own: Rainshadow's Powederhorn Cascade.  Maddie's mother happens to be the very same Brookelyn V. 'T. Wijdseland and her father, Fowler JH NA UT, is litter-mate to our own Jorja.  Maddie has matured into a beautiful girl, with excellent conformation, and has shown great promise in the field.  So as you might expect, we are more than just a little bit excited about this 2015 litter.  Both parents have good noses for finding game, have a strong instinct to point and are extremely biddable with hallmark cooperative personalities, so we expect the pups to have a strong desire to please their boss; range should be short to medium casting between 60 and 80 yards or so.  Additionally, Drents produced from this combination should be expected to have a high level of intelligence and with very typical Drent “pillar” behaviors; highly effective hunters, barking when strangers visit and being first rate family companions with a dash of ondeugend for good measure. For the uninitiated, physical and emotional maturity of the breed is typically slow and nothing we have experienced here suggests differently. When training, low pressure methods of conditioning should be employed with all Drents to achieve the best results for you and your family. Although, this combination should produce Drents with above average amounts of resiliency it is fair to have very high expectations for what these pups may be able to achieve, however, those interested in big results from very young dogs need to either adjust expectations from the outset or look elsewhere (read: different breed all together). Having realistic expectations for what a pup is ready for is important, and having patience will pay big dividends to those willing to work with these pups. Without question, you will be richly rewarded with a true canine companion.  Part of keeping a Drent is keeping your sense of humor on hand, even though both are polite and well behaved, they are after all Drents.  The CoI for this planned litter is very low, but with key structural similarities and considering the unbelievably good results produced by the Booker X Brooke litter these pups should be nothing short of amazing in conformation, temperament and health.
