Cooper X Sage
This pairing of Cooper and Sage is an exciting opportunity here in North America and the culmination of years of dedicated effort. While not the first pairing of two domestically produced Drents, it is the first pairing of two domestic Drents produced within the same breeding program, an exciting line-breeding on some fantastic Drentsche Patrijshonden.
Both Cooper and Sage are our Singletons. Cooper being produced by Tycho and Ember using an impromptu insemination kit cobbled together at midnight using aquarium supplies sourced at Wal*Mart. Sage's beginnings were also rather unique, by pairing Powder and Torm, she became the first Drent in the world to be produced using frozen semen. At the time there was a regional problem with Idexx machines giving faulty readings, these machines are used to give hormone levels, which are critical for timing ovulation and therefore breeding. Despite using a Board Certified Theriogenolgist with national acclaim, we achieved but one puppy.
As we watched these lovely Drents develop over the past few years, we often found ourselves thinking these two Solo's needed to be paired to produce a litter. They have much in common, and compliment one another very well, in personality, temperament and conformation. This is exactly what we look for when selecting dogs to pair. With this line-breeding we expect some really nice results; lovely Drents with good coats, great bone, and sweet temperaments, that will make for amazing companions in the home, field, or show ring, and be ready for whatever activity/sport you are into.
Both dogs are known for being super sweet, sensitive, biddable, cooperative, with moderately high drive. Cooper & Sage represent everything that is classically Drent. With that being said, we are seeking Show & Performance homes for this litter. While we believe these pups will make amazing family companions, as all Drents should, these incredible pups will thrive with a purpose and need to be out in the public eye, being ambassadors for the breed, and doing the things the Drents are meant to be doing.
We passionately believe this pairing to fully express our philosophy as wholeheartedly as we can imagine.
