Caper is a puppy we purchased back from our friends at High Desert Drents. She is the result of a combination of several of the lines of Drents that we worked to import over the years. She is a granddaugther of our Fowler, Tule and Ila!

Caper is proving to be very biddable, friendly and quite the character, leaning on her name as inspiration: "Caper - goofy little joke or prank or a ridiculous adventure."

Caper earned her NAVHDA Natural Ability title at just 7 months old, scoring 108/112 points She hunted in several states during her first hunting season.

In 2025 and early 2026, Caper became the 2nd female Drent to earn a CM title, the first female to earn a CM2 title, and in July of ‘26 she was the first Drent to earn a CM3 title all done in just 1 year of showing, at less than 18 months of age!

She is also the first Drent born from domestically bred Drents to earn either title. She has won 10 AKC Best in Open Shows, all from large entries, and is the only Drent to win a Best of the Best competition, where the Best in Show winners at a cluster compete again for the best amongst the lineup.
