​Rye is a German Wirehaired Pointer, a still experimental addition to our crew.

We need to try and thank a full round of folks for what has been a little over a four-year journey to get to this point. First, Dominic, for giving us an introduction to the GWP which served to redefine our impressions of the breed. From that point, we spent time meeting Wirehairs, their fanciers, and a few breeders who gave generously of their time, in a range of places and situations to get a better feel to see if the breed should stay on our "get list". To name everyone just isn’t possible but thank you one and all from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your knowledge, experiences, and passion for this great breed.

We are super thankful to Rick at Buckeye German Wirehaired Pointers, for his trust and for giving us the opportunity to be “yellow girl’s” forever home.

Rye is proving to be highly intelligent, a quick study, cooperative, bold, athletic, a bit of a goofball, and a hardcore cuddle bug. She finished her AKC CH and GCH titles with limited showing, though she prefers to be hunting birds or claiming our bed as her primary activities.
